International contacts
The Ombudsmen maintain strong links with the international Ombudsmen community.
A number of official delegations from overseas governments visit our offices to learn more about the Ombudsmen's role and how it fits within our system of government. In the 2005-2006 financial year, the Ombudsmen hosted delegations from a number of countries, including the Republic of China, Korea and Sri Lanka.
The Ombudsmen and their staff also hosted visits by staff from Ombudsmen offices in Papua New Guinea and Japan, assisted with the delivery of training to staff of the Office of the Provedor (Ombudsman) of Timor-Leste and participated in international Ombudsmen conferences and meetings.
